Turkey: Mauro Icardi Set To Part Ways With Galatasaray After Teammate, Victor Osimhen's Arrival – Commentator

 

Football commentator Ertem Şener has revealed that the Turkish Super Lig champions, Galatasaray are preparing to part ways with striker Mauro Icardi during the summer transfer window.

Speaking on his YouTube channel while discussing the club’s transfer plans, Şener revealed that conversations with Galatasaray officials suggest the Argentine forward is no longer part of the club’s long-term plans.

“From my conversation with the Galatasaray management today, I understand that they are parting ways with Icardi,” Şener was quoted as saying by Habersarikirmizi.

According to Şener, Icardi has developed a strained relationship with the coaching staff and has displayed an attitude that has negatively affected the squad.

“Icardi has some resentment towards the coach, or rather, he has a certain attitude towards the coach. He is displaying a somewhat disruptive attitude within the team. His departure is best for Galatasaray. You should give him flowers and thank him,” Şener added.

Icardi’s role at Galatasaray diminished significantly following the arrival of Nigerian striker from Napoli. Osimhen quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice striker, pushing the former Argentina international down the pecking order.

If the reports prove accurate, Icardi’s departure would mark the end of a successful spell with the Turkish champions, where he played a key role in their recent domestic successes.
