CUSTECH Expels Two Students Over Alleged Gay Practice, Rusticates Four Others For Fighting

 The Management of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, has expelled two students over alleged involvement in same-sex conduct, while four other students have been rusticated for one academic session following separate cases of fighting on campus.

The disciplinary actions were announced in a statement released on Friday, July 24, 2026, by the University's Information, Public Relations and Protocol Unit.

According to the statement, the sanctions were approved during the 31st Regular Meeting of the University Senate, held at the Faculty of Law Lecture Theatre, after the Senate considered recommendations submitted by the Students' Disciplinary Committee.

Official letters conveying the decisions were signed by the Deputy Registrar (Academics), Mr. Eli Usman Gbadafu, and issued to the affected students. Copies of the letters were also made available to the University's Information, Public Relations and Protocol Unit.

The University stated that the disciplinary measures were taken in line with the provisions of the Students' Handbook (Second Edition), as amended in 2025.

Reaffirming its commitment to discipline and academic excellence, the management stressed that it would continue to enforce its rules to maintain a peaceful and conducive learning environment.

The statement further warned that the institution would not hesitate to impose appropriate disciplinary measures on any student found guilty of violating the University's regulations.

"Students are therefore advised to familiarise themselves with the provisions of the Students' Handbook and conduct themselves in accordance with the established rules and regulations of the University," the statement read.
