A video showing lawyers struggling through floodwater at the exit point of the 2026 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference venue in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has sparked criticism on social media.
The video was shared by AAC presidential candidate and activist Omoyele Sowore, who used the incident to take a swipe at former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
Sowore recalled Amaechi's remarks during a session at the NBA conference, where the former governor defended his record in Rivers State.
According to Sowore, Amaechi had told lawyers to take him around Rivers State, saying he had built several roads and schools during his tenure.
Reacting to the flood video, Sowore wrote that Amaechi "may have forgotten to look around him," while questioning the state of roads and infrastructure in Port Harcourt.
“Look around Port Harcourt. Look at the roads. Look at the infrastructure. Look at the condition of a state they governed and claimed to have transformed. This is the Rivers State they built.”

The footage shows conference attendees attempting to navigate a flooded area, with some reportedly rolling up their trousers and carrying their shoes while moving through the water.
Some people were also seen carrying lawyers across the flooded section. Reports said some attendees paid for the service based on narration in the circulating video.
The incident has renewed online discussions about flooding, drainage and infrastructure in parts of Port Harcourt, Dafy World gathered.
Amaechi served as Rivers State governor from 2007 to 2015 and later served as Nigeria's Minister of Transportation.
The controversy followed a public exchange between Amaechi and Sowore at the NBA conference earlier in the week, during which Amaechi defended projects executed under his administration.
The flooding video and Sowore's reaction have since generated reactions across social media. The footage was shared on Facebook by Omoyele Sowore.
