A video showing a delivery rider holding onto the back of a moving commercial bus while riding along Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge has sparked mixed reactions online.
The rider can be seen using his bicycle while holding onto the speeding danfo, seemingly using the moving vehicle to help propel him along the busy highway.
The footage, shared on social media by Dapo Olumurphy Aruwajoye, has triggered conversations about the extreme measures some Nigerians take while trying to make an honest living.
While the scene may appear reckless and dangerous, some viewers have described it as another glimpse into the difficult realities of the Lagos hustle.
One commenter, Kevin Egbune, said the situation goes beyond individual recklessness, arguing that people should be able to make a living without having to “gamble with their lives.”
Others responded with humour, while some simply wished the rider well.
Whatever the reason behind the rider's decision, holding onto a moving vehicle on a major highway is extremely dangerous and could easily lead to a serious accident.
