Activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has announced his release after a brief arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS) upon his return to Nigeria on the morning of Sunday, September 15.
Sowore, the convener of the "Revolution Now" movement, disclosed the incident in a post on X, formerly Twitter. Around 20 minutes later, he updated followers, confirming his release.
He wrote:
"I have just been released by the Nigerian Immigration after a brief detention and my passport released back to me. #RevolutionNow"
