Four Footballers Dïe, 13 Injured In Grasty Plateau Accident

Four players of the Lebwit Football Academy lost their lives in a fatal road accident along the Kwanan Maciji-Pankshin-Kanke road in Plateau State. The deceased were identified as Shikritda Goma, Chapbe Gontur, Nenyitwe Gopar and Dargak Caleb. 

The manager of Plateau University FC, Habila Hosea Mutla, told Daily Trust on Thursday, April 24, 2024 that some players were also injured in the crash which occurred on Wednesday.

He said the injured players were receiving treatment at the General Hospital, Pankshin.

"The unfortunate incident claimed the lives of 4 players. The sight of young football players dying as a result of accident like these is quite discouraging," he said.  

"Shikritda Goma, Chapbe Gontur, Nenyitwe Gopar and Dargak Caleb of Lebwit football academy of Kanke lost their lives in the fatal accident that occurred on their way back from a friendly football match in Pankshin. Other injured players are currently receiving treatment at General Hospital Pankshin, Yaksat Maklek."
