Trump Warns Iran: “The Clock Is Ticking” Amid Rising Tensions Over Stalled Peace Talks

The United States President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, declaring that “the clock is ticking” as ongoing peace negotiations appear to be collapsing.

Trump made the statement on Sunday through his Truth Social platform, warning Tehran to act quickly or face devastating consequences.

“For Iran, the clock is ticking, and they better get moving fast, or there won’t be anything left of them,” Trump wrote. “Time Is Of The Essence! President DJT.”

The warning came shortly before Trump held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the escalating situation in the Middle East. According to Axios, the two leaders discussed Iran during the call, while Trump’s national security team is expected to meet again on Tuesday.

Reports from Iranian media claimed that the Trump administration failed to offer any significant concessions in response to Tehran’s latest proposals, increasing fears that negotiations could completely break down.

Earlier, Trump had described the fragile ceasefire as being on “massive life support” and dismissed Iran’s latest counteroffer as “totally unacceptable.”

Meanwhile, the administration is facing mounting pressure at home to end the conflict as Americans grapple with rising fuel costs ahead of the midterm elections. Gas prices have reportedly surged by more than 50 percent, reaching a national average of $4.51 per gallon.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also faced tough questions from lawmakers during a Capitol Hill hearing over the growing cost of the conflict.

During the House Appropriations Committee session, California Democrat Pete Aguilar pressed Pentagon officials for clearer details about military spending tied to the war.

Pentagon comptroller Jay Hurst revealed that the estimated cost of the conflict has now climbed to $29 billion, up from the earlier estimate of $25 billion presented in April.

According to Hurst, the increase was driven by rising operational expenses and the cost of repairing and replacing military equipment being used in the region.
