Edo APC Chairman Tenebe Under Fire Over Alleged De@th Threats To Critics

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Jarrett Tenebe, has come under criticism after a series of Facebook comments attributed to him allegedly contained threats and abusive language against several critics.

The controversy began after Samuel Iyobosa posted on Facebook that Governor Monday Okpebholo had travelled to Abuja to protest his alleged exclusion from the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

Tenebe reportedly responded to the post: “Bastard stop lying and if you continue you die.”

Screenshots reviewed by Dafy World E!News also show Tenebe allegedly telling another user, Baron Mike: “Talk nonsense you die because you are talking rubbish.” He subsequently wrote: “Baron Mike come to Nigeria and talk.”

Another screenshot shows Tenebe responding to Ilevbaoje Imoukhuede with the words: “you talk to me anyhow I do same and if I catch the person I smoke him.”

Tenebe was also accused of directing abusive and threatening remarks at another Facebook user, Nehizena Ogunrobo.

The comments have triggered concerns about the conduct of political leaders and the use of threatening language when responding to criticism.

A socio-accountability platform, MonITNG, described the alleged statements as “deeply disturbing and unacceptable” and called on the APC leadership to investigate the matter.

The platform said political disagreements should be addressed through dialogue and established party channels rather than insults, intimidation or threats.

Ilevbaoje Imoukhuede also criticised Tenebe, saying that as a state party chairman, he was expected to demonstrate maturity, restraint and responsible leadership.

The controversy comes amid increasing political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections, with social media playing a growing role in political debates.

Dafy World E!News has reviewed the screenshots circulating in connection with the controversy, but their independent authenticity could not be established beyond the images provided. The comments are therefore reported as allegations attributed to Tenebe.

The APC leadership has been urged to examine the matter and ensure that political disagreements do not escalate into threats, intimidation or personal attacks.
