" Please Hear This If You Are Carrying Bitterness Today" – Tonto Dike Says Forgiving Others Is For You
Forgiveness is never for the person who hurt you; it is for you — KingTonto
Nollywood actress and gospel voice Tonto Dikeh (Tontolet) has dropped a powerful update that is melting hearts and restoring hope in many homes today, Dafy World knows.
Reflecting on her journey of forgiveness, Tonto on her social media page noted that ever since the news of her reconciliation with her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, broke after nearly ten years of public battles, bitterness, and broken communication, hundreds of women have reached out to her with the same question:
“How did you learn to forgive?”
Although she could not reply to everyone, Tonto made time to personally connect with those whose pain mirrored her own.
"The result has been nothing short of miraculous. To the glory of God with at least ten women have already reconciled with their former partners — restoring peace, healing hearts, and stepping into healthier co-parenting arrangements
God has truly turned her personal story into a tool for restoration.
Accompanying her message is the above beautiful family portrait painted by talented artist @sympli.zikky. The artwork shows Tonto, Churchill, and their son King André looking united and joyful — a powerful visual of peace after the storm.
In her post on Instagram, Tonto shared this heartfelt wisdom:
“If you are carrying bitterness today, please hear this: Forgiveness is never for the person who hurt you; it is for you. It is the key to moving your life forward. God will not inflict pain on others just because we are hurting.
It is our own responsibility to release that weight and set ourselves free. True closure doesn’t come from people; it comes from God.
He promises to restore the years that the cankerworm has eaten. Not just days or weeks, but years. Every tear you’ve shed and every year spent in pain will be turned into a powerful testimony.”
She closed with a prayer for every woman still believing for peace, healing, and family restoration: "May my story be a beacon of hope for you and yours. Amen."
