Dolly Parton Laid To Rest Beside Husband Carl Dean In Private Nashville Service



Country music legend Dolly Parton has been laid to rest in a private funeral service in Nashville, Tennessee, three days after her death at the age of 80. 

Parton was buried on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum, where her husband, Carl Dean, was also laid to rest following his death in March 2025. 


The private ceremony was held in accordance with the singer's wishes and was attended by close family members. Confirmation of the burial came from Parton's great-niece, Lainey Mae Parton, who shared an emotional tribute to the music icon on social media following the funeral. 

Lainey described Parton as a loving and supportive figure who made members of her extended family feel deeply loved. She recalled how Parton encouraged her dreams and made her feel that she could achieve anything. 


The emotional tribute also highlighted Parton's close relationship with her nieces and nephews.


Lainey said that although Parton did not have children of her own, she treated members of her family as though they were her children.


Dolly Parton died on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80.


Her representatives said she had been battling cancer for a short period before her death. Her death brought an outpouring of tributes from musicians, celebrities and fans around the world, reflecting the enormous influence she had on country music and popular culture.


Parton enjoyed a career spanning more than six decades and became known not only for songs such as “Jolene” and “9 to 5,” but also for her acting, business ventures and philanthropic work. 


Her relationship with Carl Dean was one of the most enduring marriages in the entertainment industry. The couple married in 1966 and remained together for nearly 60 years, despite Dean's preference for staying away from the public spotlight. 


With Parton now laid to rest beside Dean in Nashville, the couple's remarkable love story has reached its final chapter. Dolly Parton's music and philanthropic legacy, however, are expected to continue influencing generations to come.
