It was a nightmare weekend for two of England's biggest clubs as Chelsea and Arsenal both suffered 3–0 defeats in back-to-back Premier League matches.
Chelsea were the first to suffer, falling 3–0 to Brentford on Friday night, September 18.
After a goalless first half, the host took control as they broke the deadlock in the second half before adding another two unanswered goals to seal a convincing victory over Chelsea.
The defeat extended Chelsea's difficult run in the league, with the Blues once again unable to keep a clean sheet.
Today, Arsenal suffered a similar fate against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, September 19.
The Gunners, who had won their opening four league matches, were beaten 3–0 after Brighton scored twice before the end of half-time and added a third shortly after the restart to complete their victory.
The result ended Arsenal's perfect start to the Premier League campaign and handed Mikel Arteta's side their first league defeat of the season.
With Chelsea and Arsenal both conceding three goals without scoring, it proved to be a particularly painful weekend for the two London giants.
