No EFF coalition with ANC - Malema

Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema has vehemently rejected the possibility of his party entering into a coalition in any municipality after the August 3 elections.

Speaking to journalists on Wedneday during a visit to victims of the tornado disaster in Tembisa‚ Malema said his party was not thinking about partnerships‚ but rather about governing metros across the country.
"We don't have a manifesto of coalitions. We have a manifesto of governing. We will deal with those issues after the elections.
But the mandate of our party has been that we must not go to coalition with the ANC‚" Malema said.
He warned that the party would surprise a lot of people when it claimed major metros across the country.
"We are strong in Port Elizabeth. We are going to take Port Elizabeth‚ Tshwane‚ Joburg and Ekurhuleni. We are going to shock a lot of people in Ethekwini Municipality‚ in another so-called ANC stronghold‚" he said.
The EFF leader also found time to deliver a tongue lashing to ENCA TV reporter Xoli Mngambi when he asked him for his views on the election campaign.
Malema took Mngambi to task for the fact that his television station used research company Ipsos to estimate how political parties would perform in the August 3 local government elections.
"Ekurhuleni is not an issue. It is an issue to ENCA and Ipsos‚" Malema said.
"You are only concentrating where the DA is strong. You are favouring the DA‚ ENCA and Ipsos... If the DA does not stand a chance to win anywhere‚ there is no Ipsos results because they are DA."
The tornado that hit Tembisa township in Ekurhuleni left a trail of destruction that included damage to 220 houses‚ Phumulani Mall and Tembisa hospital.
According to the City of Ekurhuleni‚ the storm blew roofs off about 200 households in Winnie Mandela‚ leaving an estimated 400 people displaced. The damage toll also include 100 shacks and 20 houses in Hospital view.
Earlier on in his visit‚ Malama pledged his party's support for the relief efforts.
"We are going to be rebuilding shacks. We are going to send our Fighters to go back so that it becomes a genuine intervention without the media‚" Malema said.
