Moves by current administration in Nigeria to provide adequate support for agriculture has continued to receive commendations.
This time, it is from the state of Saxon-Anholt, Germany where some Nigerian young farmers are currently undergoing training in farming and agriculture entrepreneurship.
The young farmers, twenty in number, are second batch of the training arrangements between a German government and government at various levels in Nigeria.
The first batch of twenty youth farmers had undergone similar training in 2013 on the bill of the Osun government.
Some of the current trainee farmers have described their experience as eye opener and exciting.
He said the training will go a long way in assisting them to practice modern mechanised agriculture.
They said that if government invests heavily in agriculture, it will boost the nation’s economy.
As a run-up to the programme, this set of young farmers underwent German language training in Osogbo, under a linguist who took them for six weeks before they left for Germany last month.
They are expected back in Nigeria first week in October.
