An high court in Abuja has sentenced two police officers ( the 4th and 5th defendants), following the extra judicial killing of the Apo Six to death.
"The conviction is under section 221(A), of the penal code, according to the Chief Judge of the Fct high court, Justice Ishaq Bello, who gave the three hour judgement.
The other three defendants, were absolved of the charges while the Second defendant, is still at large. The counsel to the 4th defendant, asked for leniency, saying that he was the bread winner of his family.
The six deceased, who resided at Apo mechanic village, were allegedly returning from a party when they met the police officers on stop and search.
The incident took place on 8th June,2005. Defendants 1,3 and 6, were discharged and absolved.
