After some European Central Bank policymakers raised the possibility of hiking interest rates before bond purchases end, the euro has firmed to its highest level against the dollar since early February this year.
The euro was up 0.2 percent at $1.0699, and increased as high as $1.0700, which is currently its highest level since Feb. 9, 2016.\
During last week’s policy meeting, some members of the European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council discussed the possibility of higher interest rates, but talk on the issue was brief and did not receive broad support, according to two sources familiar with the discussion.
