UNICEF Supports Reversal Of Osun Education Policy

Osun State Government on Sunday has reversed the 4 - 5 - 3 - 4 education system introduced by the immediate past administration as the re - introduction of the 6 - 3 - 3 - 4 received the backing of the United Nations Children’ s Fund .
In a statement issued by Ismail Omipidan, the Chief Press Secretary to Osun State Governor , said the reversal got the support of the global body in a letter by the UNICEF Field Officer in Akure Nigeria , Dr Tushar Rene , addressed to the Osun State Government .
Osun State Government had recently reversed nine policies which includes common school uniform and 4 - 5 - 3 - 4 introduced by the immediate past administration .
UNICEF, also, commended the state government for the reintroduction of the Early Childhood Development Education.
In Rene’ s letter, Omipidan stated, “ Early childhood is a time of remarkable brain development , and any investment in this area yields very high economic returns, offsetting disadvantage and inequality especially for children from poor families .”
