Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and car on the N2 near Mandeni, in the KZN north coast earlier this week.
IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Paul Herbst, said it was alleged that the car on Sunday had been travelling on the south bound lane when it lost control and crossed the center-median before colliding with a truck on the north bound lane.
"The high-impact collision unfortunately claimed the lives of both occupants of the car. The deceased were cut from the wreckage by Rural Metro Fire and Rescue."
Herbst appealed to road users to reduce their speed while travelling in the rain.
