Oyo State: ‘We Will Not Negotiate With Terrorists’ Over Abducted Students, Teachers – Assembly Speaker
The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin, has declared that the state government will not negotiate with the armed groups responsible for the abduction of 45 students and seven teachers from Esienle and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped on May 15, with the perpetrators later presenting a set of conditions to the government in exchange for their release.
Speaking on the incident, Ogundoyin maintained that the state would not bow to the demands of those behind the attack, emphasizing the government's commitment to addressing the situation through lawful and appropriate channels.
Authorities continue efforts to secure the safe return of the abducted students and teachers while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
